Priests, Home Ownership and Life in the Rectory

I noticed that some folks made comments about priests owning their own homes so I thought to open this subject for discussion. I had read a blog article recently where a priest discussed whether it was a good thing or not, that a priest/pastor would buy a home and live there rather than live in the rectory provided for him.

Any thoughts?

I don't think many priests live permanently in homes other than the one provided for them by the parish. I do think many of the older priests have homes that they use a vacation homes and to which they plan to retire. Some parishes do not have a rectory but give the priest a housing allowance and allow him to find his own place to live.

Is it true that the confiteor in the new Roman Missal is abusive to children?
