This is a case involving the sale of the old chanchery buildings next to the cathedral. The bishop is being sued for over 240,000 dollars.

I must be missing something: if the diocese owned the buildings and sold them, why would the diocese/bishop be sued?

Can't help but wonder whose really in charge in this diocese. I believe it might not be Di Lorenzo but Msgr.Shreve.

i've seen msgr shreve bossing the bishop around. i think the bishop is intimidated by him. for what it's worth, the going rumor is that dilorenzo is not much interested in anything and is just getting by so he can retire. there seems to be sufficient evidence to verify this claim. just look across this diocese, what has changed under dilorenzo? just the rhetoric...slightly...but other than that, the diocese is still spiraling down. and the general approach to the church in this diocese is laissez-faire. people are just going through the motions....following our leader.

I heard that Monsignor Shreve was just made Administrator of the parish in which he resides. I thought they had a pastor. Why in the world would he be named Administrator? A golfing buddy told me he heard it at Mass from no other than the bishop yesterday. True or misunderstanding?
