This is the legacy of Vatican II. When will people admit that like many other things coming out of the 60's it was a failed experiment.

Perish the thought! Actually, they should "parish" that thought. Cry me a river. Seriously?! SERIOUSLY?! I see this comment as a glaring, explicit admission that pot-VII theology is UNORTHODOX, UNFAITHFUL, and DISLOYAL at best and implicative of PERFIDY, TREACHERY and TREASON!!!

This guy has no concept of the term "renewal." Let me help:
re•new [ri-noo, -nyoo]
verb (used with object)
1. to begin or take up again, as an acquaintance, a conversation, etc.; resume.
2. to make effective for an additional period: to renew a lease.
3. to restore or replenish: to renew a stock of goods.
4. to make, say, or do again.
5. to revive; reestablish.
This guy thinks "renew" actually means to "modernize." There is a very distinct difference.
What this article points out (unwittingly, I believe), is the diabolic indoctrination that these VII priests underwent. They have been educated right out of their common sense and the CARA survey referenced in the article supports this assertion (as well as just about any other post-VII stats).
The entire article is replete with nonsensical and illogical argumentation. Complaining of “rigidity”? What they need is a rigid 2x4 to the cranium. And that goes for most of the replies in the comment section, esp. the couple that I saw suggestion we look to Hans Kung for advice….PUHleez!
I’d love to continue ripping this article apart but I now see it as a near occasion of sin.

Like Quis Ut Deus, I too found the complaints about the return to orthodoxy, fidelity, and the magisterium, very telling of the mindset of the Catholic left. As if orthodoxy, fidelity, and the magisterium were the three plagues to be avoided...
At any rate, the sway and the power the Catholic left held over the Church in our country for the past three or four decades, is waning. It is understandable that they will lament that fact, but the rest of us need not be too concerned with it. We should evangelise them instead.
